United States Bucket List Travel Destinations

What’s On Your U.S. Travel Bucket List?

I am a massive lover of travel. Y’all have seen a lot of it here and I have brought y’all along for it on my YouTube Channel. With the state of the world in 2020 and carrying over into 2021, I am itching to get back on the road and start traveling again. With a lot of borders being closed, that means it is the perfect time to start exploring the United States. From quick road trips to new cities nearby to short flights to new destinations right in the U.S.

I suppose that’s one of the perks of the U.S. being so big, is that you may have a friend in a city that you can make a trip out of. I’ve rarely really gone on a full on vacation within the U.S. outside of exploring Hawaii, New York City, and Seattle or exploring more of the south. I really can’t even say I’ve created a true travel itinerary for somewhere within the 48 contiguous states.

On my phone, I keep a travel bucket list. It’s my little reminder of places I want to visit to. A way to put it out there into the universe I suppose. And a lot of those destinations are outside the U.S. From exploring the Amalfi Coast, swimming in crystal clear waters in the Maldives, a safari in South Africa, and hiking and eating chocolate in Switzerland. All dream vacations. I’ve got a long list of dream destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia and beyond. But the US? I only have a handful.

United States Bucket List Travel Destinations

My little list in my Notes app of the United States destinations I want to visit is kind of short. I am currently trying to plan some trips and one of them is happening later this year in October. It will be definitely one I check off my bucket list. Now my list below is a full state because if I am going to explore, I am really going to explore and hit all the spots.

Colorado

Not many places can you ski and hike in the same place. I have been dying to go to Aspen for years to ski and explore that beautiful city but I also would love to go to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are so many incredible cities in Colorado to explore as well from Denver to Aspen to Boulder to Colorado Springs.

Texas

Everything’s bigger in Texas! I have been saying for years that I just want to go eat my way through Texas. Being from the South, I am a massive fan of BBQ and I have heard amazing things about Texas BBQ and I want to dig in. For my foodie journey through Texas, I would hit Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Waco. Because if you are going to Texas, you have to stop in Waco to visit Magnolia!

Arizona

Arizona is a big one for me as I am dying to go to Sedona and Scottsdale. I have family who have gone to both of these places and have told me things to do. I am excited to see all the cactus, gorgeous rock formations and eat all the food while soaking up some sun. There are several fun things that you can do from an off-road Jeep tour, a horseback riding tour and maybe a day trip to the Grand Canyon.

Utah

Utah has some of the most beautiful landscape and one of the biggest reasons to visit for me, is the outdoor activities. From Zion National Park to Arches National Park to the Salt Flats to Bryce Canyon National Park. There are so many incredible views and landscapes to explore.

Nashville, Tennessee

Throw on the country boots, find some honky tonks, and listen to some great live music. There is so much life in Nashville and I am dying to country music’s home to explore, eat some great food, and take in all the night life. Nashville makes a great place for a girls trip!

California Road Trip

How does a 2 week road trip through all of California sound? Sounds like a fun trip to me. From San Diego all the way up to Sacramento, while hitting Los Angeles, Big Bear, Joshua Tree, wineries, Pacific Coast Highway, and more. This has been something that I have been wanting to do for forever but just need to get logistically put together. You could do van life for 2 weeks or do Airbnb’s, the possibilities are endless.

What’s on your U.S. Travel Bucket List? What are some places in the U.S. that I should put on my Bucket List? As always, thank y’all for stopping by and reading. I will see y’all back here next time.

Love, Dani
