Hey y’all! Welcome to The Conversation Series Podcast. I have always loved to learn no matter what the topic may be and ever since I graduated I have wanted to continue my education and learn from other people. The Conversation Series Podcast is a podcast getting to talk to some incredible people in different industries, with different experiences that I want to learn from and share stories that other people can learn from as well.
I am sitting down with Sarah Antonelli, Girls’ and Women’s Youth and Amateur Hockey Specialist with the Carolina Hurricanes and Assistant Girl’s Hockey Director with the Carolina Junior Hurricanes. Born and raised 30 minutes from Detroit, naturally, Sarah picked up the sport of hockey playing for teams such as Little Caesars and Belle Tire.
She then found herself in Baltimore, MD playing collegiately for the Stevenson Mustangs as a defenseman. Upon graduation, she was hired by the New York Rangers to launch their Girls Hockey Platform. A few years later, she had the opportunity to relocate back home to Detroit and work for the Red Wings as she served the community she grew up in. Sarah has now relocated to Raleigh to focus on the growth and development of the girls’ game in North Carolina. Sarah’s hope is to impact the girls greatly through her knowledge of the game and her experience in different hockey markets.
We are diving into Sarah’s experience and playing career as a hockey player, the transition from player to coach, her part in the awareness and growth of girls and women’s hockey in the league, and more.
Y’all, please go follow Sarah and follow along on her journey and all the amazing work she is doing. As always, thank y’all for stopping by and reading, watching, and listening. I will see y’all back here next time.
