The Conversation Series: Melissa Howsam & Lauren Krutchen – Episode 60

Hey y’all! Welcome to The Conversation Series Podcast. I have always loved to learn no matter what the topic may be and ever since I graduated I have wanted to continue my education and learn from other people. The Conversation Series Podcast is a podcast getting to talk to some incredible people in different industries, with different experiences that I want to learn from and share stories that other people can learn from as well.

I am sitting down with Melissa Howsam, Editor-in-Chief at Raleigh Magazine, and Lauren Kruchten, Associate Editor at Raleigh Magazine. It’s a special episode with three NC State Wolfpacks on the podcast. For the last 20 years, Melissa has been creating audience-driven, smart, clean, relevant on-brand content for print and digital platforms. An expert at devising and delivering content geared toward specific audiences via myriad mediums from print magazines, newspapers and digital media to marketing, nonprofits, corporate communications, and more. Today she sits as the Editor-in-Chief of Raleigh Magazine with a strong team, bringing everything Raleigh to readers.

Lauren is a hardworking, driven writer who has been writing for Raleigh Magazine for the last 4 years on top of having had freelance articles published in various other local publications during the same time. Reporting stories on different news and events, Lauren has a keen eye for a variety of different topics and interests. Together, Melissa and Lauren make an incredible team!

We are diving into both Melissa and Lauren’s careers and how they both found their passions for writing and editing, what a day in the life looks like, some of the most important skills and qualities in an Editor, what goes into the creation of issues of Raleigh Magazine, Office Talk Podcast, and more. Join us as we get to know Melissa and Lauren and their stories!

Y’all, please go follow Melissa and Lauren and follow along on their journeys and all the amazing work they are doing. As always, thank y’all for stopping by and reading, watching, and listening. I will see y’all back here next time.

LOVE, DANI
