Hey y’all! I have talked to y’all a lot about things that I want to do on my YouTube Channel and all of these ideas that I want to bring to life. One of the projects has been my absolute passion project and that is, The Conversation Series. I have always loved to learn no matter what the topic may be. Here is a little more detail about it:
~The Conversation Series: I am hungry to learn whatever I can and whenever I can. Ever since I graduated I have wanted to continue my education and learn from other people. So The Conversation Series is a ton of episodes of getting to talk to some incredible people that have unique niches and experiences that I want to learn from and share stories that other people can learn from as well.
I don’t know about y’all but I’m excited for this new episode! For this episode, I am sitting down with videographer, Jeff Toates. If you are a Dallas Stars fan have been watching their videos for the last 6 years, you have heard players say Toates, well this is the Toates behind the camera. Toates was born and raised in Texas and graduated from Texas A&M where he started his sports videography and broadcasting experience with the 12th Man Productions. Since 2015, Jeff had been with the Dallas Stars working in different roles but always with a camera in his hands. Toates was embedded with the team, meaning he had full access to the dressing room, the training room, the practice ice, the hotels and meal rooms.
At the end of the 2020-21 NHL season, Jeff announced that he was starting a new job with Bally Sports Southwest to work on some different NBA (Mavericks) and MLB (Pelicans) feature productions. But before he officially started there, he got a text from Dallas Stars player, Stephen Johns, saying he was rollerblading across America and if he wanted to come along. What started as rollerblading across America soon became a movement called Mental Miles, speaking to mental health. I am so blessed to have been able to sit down with Jeff Toates and dive into his world and learn more.
