I have always loved to learn no matter what the topic may be and ever since I graduated I have wanted to continue my education and learn from other people. The Conversation Series Podcast is a podcast getting to talk to some incredible people in different industries, with different experiences that I want to learn from and share stories that other people can learn from as well.
I am sitting down with Dr. Terrance Ruth, NCSU Professor, 2022 Candidate for Mayor of Raleigh, and Host of Illogical by TRUTH Podcast. Dr. Ruth is an advocate for public education, once serving as a teacher, principal, and the parent of a son who attends public schools in Wake County. As a former Administrator for Wake County Public Schools who now serves as an Education Consultant to numerous nonprofits, he sits on several state-wide boards.
Dr. Ruth is leading a coalition of leaders to engage in local solutions through impact investing, design thinking, and creative collaborations. Right now he is facilitating a process to increase the use of faith-based assets in improving the affordable housing stock. He is also working with United Way of the Triangle to offer a human-centered design lens to the philanthropic network in the Triangle.
Today, Terrance has decided to make the Illogical By Truth podcast with the goal to empower people to engage locally and to understand how significant it is to be aware and active at the local level. Additionally, he intends to use this podcast as an informative tool in order to increase the turnout of the black vote in local government in order to better represent the community.
