Sunset at Jockey’s Ridge

One of my all time favorite places to go and watch a sunset in the Outer Banks, has to be Jockey’s Ridge. If you don’t know what Jockey’s Ridge is, let me share a little NC history with y’all. Jockey’s Ridge, located in Nags Head, NC, is 427-acres of the tallest active sand dune system in the eastern United States. Yep you heard me right! Along with the sand dunes, it is also overlooking the Roanoke Sound. That means that when a sunset happens, at the very top of Jockey’s Ridge, you get a beautiful sunset view over the water.

While spending part of my summer in the Outer Banks, Jockey’s Ridge was a frequent place for me to visit, especially when I had new people in town that had never seen it before. I thought I would bring y’all along for a sunset night at Jockey’s Ridge and just what exactly it all looks like.

As always, thank y’all for stopping by and reading and watching. I will see y’all back here next time.

Love, Dani
