50 New Year’s Goals

New Year’s resolutions for me are never about the big things, like lose weight or stop drinking. New Year’s resolutions don’t have to be big or crazy. It’s all about the small changes and new habits you introduce into your everyday routine that make a lasting impact.

Here are 50 New Year’s goals I’ll be working on in 2022

  • Repeat my favorite affirmation to myself every morning
  • Read at least one chapter of a book per day
  • Swap my grocery bags with reusable bags
  • Clean my room or home for mental clarity
  • Wear outfits that make me feel confident
  • Take days off to truly rest and recharge (and don’t feel guilty about it)
  • Listen to understand, rather than listening to respond
  • Add ankle weights to my daily walks
  • Put my phone down one hour before bed
  • Do activities that exercise my brain
  • Write handwritten letters to loved ones instead of sending virtual ones
  • Treat myself to a small gift after hard weeks
  • Make more meals at home instead of buying out/doing take out
  • Call or video chat your friend instead of texting them
  • Take a 10-minute break from looking at your computer screen ever 1-2 hours
  • Stretch for at least five minutes before every workout
  • Start making myself a green juice or green smoothie
  • Write down my to-do list the night before
  • Donate to a different charity every month
  • Do my nails at home instead of getting a manicure
  • Give yourself a face or body massage to relieve any tension
  • Cook myself a hearty, homemade meal
  • Shake up a new cocktail recipe
  • Make my bed every day
  • Make sure to take the dog on a small or big walk every day
  • Take care of my plants
  • Write one thing I’m thankful for every morning
  • Take myself on a date
  • Discover a new podcast
  • Take naps when I need to recharge
  • Check in with your loved ones at least once a week
  • Do breathing exercises whenever I feel overwhelmed
  • Take daily supplements or vitamins that work for me
  • Floss every day
  • Participate in a local volunteering opportunity
  • Compliment a friend or co-worker on their character rather than their appearance
  • Finish a puzzle by myself
  • Go explore one of my local museums
  • Give myself unconditional permission to eat that extra slice of pizza or cake
  • Try a new type of wine, like orange wine or natural wine
  • Eat lunch away from my work desk or laptop
  • Drink a glass of water before I start my day
  • Try a new restaurant or activity in my city. Time to explore!
  • Check out a new workout class
  • Light a candle for aromatherapy benefits
  • Take a free online course on a subject I’ve always been interested in
  • Spend as much time by the water as possible
  • Turn up the music and dance as much as possible
  • It’s not about losing weight and exercising every day, making sure to move my body everyday
  • Take weekend trips with friends for new adventures
